Immigration, Naturalization & Citizenship

Immigration decisions can shape the future of your family for generations. Whether you’re sponsoring a spouse, parent, sibling, or adult child, applying for naturalization, or responding to a request from immigration authorities, the process can feel overwhelming. We provide compassionate, practical, and personalized immigration guidance to help you understand your options.

At C. Cadogan and Associates, we take the time to understand your family’s goals, explain your options in plain language, and develop a practical strategy tailored to your circumstances. We believe you should always know where your case stands, what comes next, and what to expect throughout the process. Our role is to reduce uncertainty, help you avoid unnecessary delays and mistakes, and guide you through each stage with clear communication, responsive service, and dedicated advocacy, so you can focus on what matters most: your family’s future.

Relative Petitions

We assist individuals and families seeking to reunite with loved ones through relative petitions. As a green card holder (permanent resident), you can petition for certain family members to immigrate to the United States as permanent residents. These include petitions for spouses (husband or wife), unmarried children under 21 years, unmarried son or daughter of any age, immediate relative petitions for spouses, parents, and children of U.S. citizens.

Fiancé (K-1) Visas

Beginning your life together in the United States should be an exciting experience, not a confusing one. We help you to legally bring your foreign fiancé to the United States by filing a K-1 Fiancé Visa petition. A K-1 Fiancé Visa allows a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to bring their foreign fiancé(e) to the United States so they can get married. Once approved, the couple must marry within 90 days of the fiancé(e)’s arrival, after which the foreign spouse may apply for permanent residence.

Many applications are rejected due to incorrect or insufficient proof. We can increase the chances of a successful K-1 Fiancé visa by ensuring that you submit the correct documents at the right time. We take the time to listen and explain your options in plain language.

Naturalization

Naturalization is the process of becoming a U.S. citizen if you were not born in the United States. Did you know that children born to a United States citizen, even if born outside the United States, are, or can become, United States citizens through naturalization? A child who regularly resides outside the United States is eligible to acquire citizenship through his/her US citizen parents, either at birth or after birth but before age 18. Let us help you to reclaim your child’s right to the land of opportunities – US citizenship.

Citizenship

Becoming a United States citizen is a significant milestone. For many people, the most common path is to first be a lawful permanent resident, also called a green card holder, for at least five years.

Before you apply, you must meet certain requirements. The rules can vary depending on your situation, so it is important to understand which path applies to you.

At Cadogan and Associates, we help you with: naturalization applications, citizenship eligibility assessments, Preparation for the naturalization process and interview, replacement and correction of citizenship documents, and citizenship matters for children and family members.
